I climbed over a fence at the Cherokee Heritage Center to find an abandoned amphitheater where everything was left as if the whole town suddenly disappeared without being able to take their belongings. There were dressing rooms full of clothes and piles of leftover trash smelling quite fresh. I was reminded of how often one will never go to the places so many others have lived in. There are so many parts of the world I have not even been born in.
