The highlight of the western excursion occurred in Tulsa as the sun was setting. There was this one moment that was complete magic, the kind of moment when the lighting is just right, the air is soft and warm, and everyone around you is connected through a shared emotion. Dylan turned away from us and timidly put a record on, it was titled “The Hired Hand.” When he turned around, everyone had settled cross-legged on the floor. We sank into the music and experienced this moment together. I watched as Dylan looked at us, seeing the power of his artwork in person. When he snapped a photo, I knew this was just as magical to him as it was to us. Ultimately I hope to find a way to create art with this incredible power to unify.
