We had two great lectures this evening. The latter was especially notable to me. It was incredible impressive. The speaker spoke with such passion, energy, and conviction about his topic. It felt much more like someone was just talking to us about something he truly cared about, rather than a standard academic lecture on some topic that you're supposed to be interested in, given by some guy. Afterwards, I felt like I truly had just put a foot into the pool of understanding Navajo culture. It wasn’t just about the information he gave, but rather the way he spoke about it and his whole delivery of it. I felt like from that talk I got an understanding of nonverbal qualities about how the Navajo people experience the world through their culture.
