I arrived in Byers today, and after a hectic morning, it felt nice to be in the quiet and open of the plains again. I am excited about getting to work on some projects today. I learned so much and took in so much information these past two weeks that it feels like an almost impossible task to try to translate that information into work in just three days. I have gotten comfortable in a big university studio with a lot of fancy tools and materials. It is daunting to be in a new place, where my normal process of making is disrupted. It feels fitting, though, to make in a new place and new way. This whole class has been such a different way of looking, thinking, and learning about art, so it is fitting that I should be making art in a different way too.
