We're at the Y(MCA). The older cabins and other buildings here are very simple and appear simply functional. The new cabins and main building scream "vernacular architecture" to me. Though they are much more modern, intricate, and architecturally beautiful, they certainly fit in the landscape.  They are capable of being wholly unquestioned or deeply studied; they assimilate an evolved, borrowed, or hybrid vernacular. I wonder who designed them.
