Before this trip began, I knew the class would be fun, and that I would see beautiful sights and new places. I was not prepared for how enjoyable it would be; exploring small towns and making connections. I was blown away by how beautiful these sights were; from snow falling in the mountains or a windy day at the Great Sand Dunes, to the stunning simplicity of ditch irrigation or a decaying barn. The best surprise thus far were the connections I made with people along the way. From the owner of the Alien Watch Tower in Hooper, Colorado to the self-actualized owner of the oldest running store in Colorado. All of the unique and hard-working individuals I met in this first week helped me in better understanding the human race, and how wonderfully diverse our lives can be.
