Today while leaving South Fork heading back towards Boulder, it became oddly apparent how little distance we had actually traveled. It was easy to feel as though we had been confronting something distant even when the life of those in the San Luis Valley and the lives of us living around Boulder are inextricably bound. After being in that region for five days it was only after arriving back in Boulder, surrounded by the familiar mountains, roads and corporate business did I really feel how closely related these seemingly separate places and cultures of the Urban and Rural are. You don’t have to travel to far to find something unfamiliar.
